The 2008 BLE Tournaments are underway with the NORTH SHORE TWINS of the BCPBL winning the Best of the West U18 championship in a tight game against the Langley Blaze.

Super clinics

Big League Experience is proud to announce the 2008 dates for their Spring Training Camps and Super Clinics. These camps and clinics travel to a number of communities across Western Canada to work with players and coaches of all levels. Super Clinics work with both players and coaches and off NCCP coaching certification. Spring Camps are for players only.

BLE Individual Summer Camps

The BLE Summer Camps, one of the longest running summer baseball camps in North America announces it’s summer dates for it's Oliver location. Heading the camp for the 11th straight year are Marty Lehn, Scout for the Milwaukee Brewers organization and coach of the 2004 Canadian Olympic team and former Red Sox and Colorado Rockies player, Colin Dixon.

The combined coaching and counseling staff is second to none, boasting Canadian and US National Team members, along with former Major Leaguers, active scouts and top University coaches and players.

Team Camp

The Big League Experience is pleased to announce that they have expanded the Team Camps to two camp dates for 2008. Camp Director, Marty Lehn says, “We had an overwhelming response from the coaches and players involved in last year’s Team Camp and frankly had to add a second date to accommodate the teams that have committed to attending in 2008. The camps are scheduled just prior to the Can-Am Classic Tournaments and have proven to be a great preparation for Provincial and State playdowns/championships. View Team Camp Story - Gibsons

Taylor Green Wins Award

The Milwaukee Brewers announced the 2007 Robin Yount Performance Award, which recognizes the Brewers Minor League Player of the Year. Third baseman Taylor Green was named the Organization's Minor League Player of the Year. Taylor Green, 20, hails from Courtenay, BC, where he played all his youth baseball in the Comox Valley before playing for Parksville Royals of the BC Premier Baseball League. Big League Experience owner, Marty Lehn, the Western Canadian Scout for the Milwaukee Brewers was with Taylor and his family for the signing during the 2006 draft.

The BLE staff wishes Taylor continued success in the 2008 season and we will keep you posted on his play as he moves up through the Brewer’s system.

Showcase Camp 2008

The SHOWCASE camp has been set for Aug 3-9 and will be for those players 15 and older. College Coaches and Professional scouts will be in attendance as players and teams from around the Northwest will have the opportunity to showcase their talent. What a great way to end the baseball season and prepare yourself for fall ball and future baseball opportunities.

Can-Am Classic Tournaments

In its 10th year of operation, the CAN-AM Classic tournaments draw teams from all over the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada and have even drawn teams from as far as Florida and California. The sunny Okanagan climate, mixed in with three well manicured, full sized diamonds and 2 Little League size fields, create an environment that is second to none for tournaments and camps.
