BLE Baseball Camps

The BLE Summer Camps in Oliver, B.C. are one of the longest running summer baseball camps in North America. Heading the camp for the 13th straight year are Marty Lehn, Scout for the Milwaukee Brewers organization and coach of the 2004 Canadian Olympic team and former Red Sox and Colorado Rockies player, Colin Dixon. In partnership with MIZUNO, the BLE will host a total of nine camps this summer which will include two BLE Individual Summer Camps, the BLE PNC Tune Up Camp, two Team Camps and four MIZUNO camps.

The BLE 10/12 Individual Summer Camp, July 26 to 31is designed for players born in 2000 to 1998. This camp is ideal for all skill levels and will be played on a 60 ft/46 ft. diamond with a focus on building the fundamentals of the game. Camp will include an Intersquad Can Am Tournament. Cost of the camp, including lodging, meals, camp shirt/hat and instruction will be $600.

The BLE BANTAM 13/15 Summer Camp, July 19 to 25 is designed for players born in ‘97 to ’95 of all abilities who will be playing on 80 ft/54 ft diamond. Instruction will focus on all aspects of the game including positional work. Campers will be given the option of playing on TEAM BLE in the KR3 Can Am Bantam Classic tournament held July 23 to 25. Cost of the camp/tournament is $650 and includes meals, lodging, camp hat and shirt, tournament shirt and tournament fees. Camp ONLY cost is $500.

The BLE MIDGET 15+ Summer Camp, August 9 to 14 is designed for players born in ‘95 and older of all abilities who will be playing on 90 ft/60.5 ft diamond. Instruction will focus on all aspects of the game including specialized positional work. Cost of the camp, including lodging, meals, camp shirt/hat and instruction will be $600.

The combined coaching and counseling staff is second to none, boasting Canadian and US National Team members, along with former Major Leaguers, active scouts and top University coaches and players.

For 2010, the Big League Experience will partner up with MIZUNO who will be the “Headline” sponsor of four BLE Summer Camps, offering advanced instruction and opportunity to committed players of all ages, looking to take their game to the next level.

BLE Team Camps

For 2010, the BLE has two Team Camp dates set. If you and your team are looking for the ultimate experience getting your team ready for post season, Team Camps are the answer. Team Camps are designed for each team, including their coaches, to work as a unit and build team chemistry and continuity in preparation for upcoming tournaments, district and provincial/state playdowns. Both coaches and players receive individual and team instruction as well as play games against "outside" competition. Team Camp I will be an open age camp scheduled July 5 to 8 which leads into the KR3 Can Am PROSPECT’S 16U Tournament. Team

Camp II will be for age groups 13-15 running July 19 to 23, leading into the KR3 Can Am BANTAM 14U Tournament. Cost of the Team Camp I, Cost of the camp, including lodging, meals, camp shirt and instruction is $350 (plus HST) per player. Cost of Team Camp II, including lodging, meals, camp shirt and instruction is $400. Coaches (at least one coach must stay with the team) are half price, including lodging and all meals.

BLE PNC Tune Up Camp

The BLE PNC Tune Up Camp is designed for players born in ’97 to ’94 interested in participating with TEAM BC at the PNC championships in Portland, Oregon. The format of the camp will be identical to that used at the B.C. Team Select’s Camp using the same fields and facilities and will follow the identifier process used by Baseball BC to select potential PNC candidates.

Join Milwaukee Brewers scout and former Olympic coach, Marty Lehn, along with former MLB player, Chris Pritchett, Brandon Newell (Milwaukee Brewers Scout) and Ray Chadwick (TRU Head Coach) as well as other professional coaches for four intensive days of training and preparation prior to District and Provincial camps.

If you are looking for an edge and are serious about preparing for District or Provincials, or a last shot for the PNC team, don’t miss this camp. Cost of the camp, including lodging, meals, camp shirt and instruction will be $350.
